Jenny and Mitch would see each other prior to their ceremony. To make the moment special, we decided to have them meet in the Flemish Room of the Jefferson Hotel. These images were taken when they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day.

Lindsey & Josiah were married on a Wednesday - during the holiday week between Christmas and New Years Day. The evening ceremony was held at Shady Grove Methodist Church in Short Pump, followed by a reception at the nearby Rockville Center.

A last minute booking.... Brock Daniel and Katherine Ridenour, actually had another photographer lined up to shoot their wedding in Maryland on the day after Christmas (12/26/09). A few changes occurred to their plans, just prior to the wedding, and we adjusted our holiday schedule in order to send Nancy Topham (my daughter) to photograph their wedding.

We were certainly glad to help them out - we booked this wedding just 3 days before it was scheduled to take place. Nancy took this photo on Main Street in Poolesville - the town's Christmas lights are seen in the background.

Amy Fowler:

We were all worried that the amazing feeling from that night would not read through in the photographs. The warmth from the candlelight inside, the glow of the Christmas lights outside. The photographs I have seen so far are all amazing. Nancy did a great job!! Thank you so much for taking the booking for my brother so late...you were a God send!!

We had back to back weddings on Saturday (December 19th.), and Sunday (12/20/09), which was the same weekend as the big snow - with over 12 inches of snow. Here are some images from our Sunday wedding at Stony Point Reformed Presbyterian Church in Bon Air.97x 3205.JPG

The Bride (Sarah Arthur) was well prepared and provided matching boots for each bridesmaid.

The Reception was held at Wrexham Hall in Chesterfield - the perfect backdrop for a photo.

I can't really think of a better place to spend a snowy day than the Mill at Fine Creek in Powhatan County, Virginia. The snow began falling on Friday (December 18th) at about the time of their rehearsal, and continued falling throughout the day on Saturday. The result was a winter wonderland with at least 14 to 16 inches of snow. I know this first hand since I waded through some very deep spots to get these photos. The Swiss style architecture complemented the Alpine look of the postcard setting.

Special credit to Powhatan County VDOT for keeping the road to The Mill at Fine Creek in such good shape. The highway was kept open all day and we found it to be quite manageable - considering the amount of snow that had fallen.

The staff at The Mill at Fine Creek did their part to keep the entrance (above) open and the parking lot was well cleared. The Kabota tractor/snowblower was the right match for the deep snow.

The ceremony was held inside, and after the ceremony the same room would be used for a dinner / reception.
