The advantage of two photographers. I was on the floor, getting the shot of Kimberly as she came down the aisle, and at the same moment, my daughter Nancy shot over her shoulder - to get Patrick's reaction.

The reason I went so low (on the floor) - was to crop out the windows on each side of the bride. They were way too bright. By going with a low angle, it blocked the view of the bright windows, and it also created an interesting angle at a decisive moment.

March 17, 2009 // Engagement
After a rain out on Monday, we hit the streets of Shockoe Bottom on Tuesday - which was also St. Patrick's Day. The warm, dry afternoon weather allowed for a perfect shoot.

March 12, 2009 // News
Pulitzer Prize Author James McPherson spoke to a packed audience at the University of Richmond. The topic was "Abraham Lincoln and the South".

According to McPherson, it was probably Lincoln, who came up with the strategy (to attack the Confederate positions from multiple locations- simultaneously) which ultimately won the war. Yet Lincoln was not a "Military Man".

March 8, 2009 // Wedding
Here are a few shots from our Sunday (March 8th.) wedding. We were in Washington, DC with Lauren Myers and Andy Young. The first shot is taken at one of my favorite spots there - 17th Street at the Mall, with the Lincoln Memorial right behind them. I enjoyed driving the newlyweds around to a few scenic locations for portraits.  9x 0083.JPG

As a news photographer, I would often drive about DC with a reporter in the back seat - now it's a bride & groom.

This photo says it all - head coach Chris Mooney celebrates with players in the locker room after his team knocked off 17th ranked Xavier. Richmond has now won 4 of their last 5 games and their next stop is the Atlantic Ten Tournament.
